Michael J. Maher is currently the Founder & CEO of Benjamin’s Desk, Philadelphia’s Premier Shared Office and Coworking Space for Professionals. During his military career, he served as a Surface Warfare Officer with four years of at-sea leadership experience and over three years of recruiting sales experience. Michael completed three deployments totaling 17 months overseas while conducting Iraqi oil platform defense and air warfare defense in the Persian Gulf, anti-piracy operations off the coast of Africa, and humanitarian operations in several countries in Southeast Asia.

Michael has additional experience in multimedia sales and marketing, as the Vice President and Chief Marketing Director at Sight2Site Media, a digital media agency and multimedia-marketing firm. In April 2012, Michael competed in and won the Veteran Entrepreneur Shark Tank (Business Pitch Competition) held by the Greater Philadelphia Veterans Network for his real estate technology start-up RealComps, which is finalizing its seed round of financing.

A native of Cape May County, New Jersey, Michael graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2005, with a BS in Political Science, concentrating in American Politics and Law. Michael also graduated from the Villanova School of Business Cum Laude with an MBA, concentrating in Real Estate, Finance, and International Business. He is an entrepreneur who has started several small businesses and frequently speaks on a myriad of small business issues including business ethics, process improvement, and digital media solutions. Michael currently resides in Philadelphia, PA with his wife, Jennifer and son, John David Maher III.
